T.J. Edwards bio
T. J. Edwards born August 12, 1996, is an American football linebacker for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League (NFL).
He has also participated in NFL games for the Philadelphia Eagles. He participated in Wisconsin college football.
At Lakes Community High School in Lake Villa, Illinois, Edwards was a quarterback. He also participated in three games at Safety his senior year. He recorded 20 tackles, 2 TFLs, 2 sacks, and an interception in his three defensive games.

Despite being a quarterback in high school, he was recruited as a defensive player for college football. Edwards had a commitment to Western Michigan at first.
Nevertheless, Edwards changed his mind about playing for Wisconsin in early December 2013 after Dave Aranda, the Badgers’ defensive coordinator, recruited him.
Edwards played inside linebacker for the Wisconsin Badgers football team while a student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Edwards redshirted his first year of college.
The team was getting ready to meet Auburn in the Outback Bowl at the conclusion of the regular season. Younger team members earned more playing time, and Dave Aranda, the defensive coordinator at UW, lauded Edwards, calling him “the MVP of that period, in my opinion.”

Marcus Trotter and Derek Landisch, the starting inside linebackers from 2014, graduated and had to be replaced, thus Edwards was put into the mix to start. After spring practice, Edwards and Leon Jacobs had both secured starter positions.
All 13 of Edwards’ games during his redshirt freshman season were starts. [6] Edwards recorded 12 tackles for the season against Alabama in the opening game.
He only made eight tackles in the following three games, though. As a result of his performance against Purdue on October 19—which included 16 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, and one forced fumble—Edwards was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week.
Edwards topped the team in tackles for the year with 84, 6.5 tackles for losses, and one forced fumble.
Edwards was selected to the Football Writers Association of America’s Freshman All-American team at the conclusion of the season.
The coaches also gave him a mention for All-Big Ten.
