The death toll following the earthquake now stands at seven for Hatayspor, including Savut and Atsu, who were key figures within the club.
When the first earthquake, measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale, occurred, Savut and Atsu were both buried beneath the debris of an opulent residential structure.
The apartment building, Ronesans Residence, which was constructed in 2013, has now come to represent Turkey’s subpar building methods, which many attributes to the tens of thousands of fatalities in this month’s earthquakes.
