Scott Matthew Parker is an English professional football coach. He was most recently the manager of Club Brugge.

Parker was raised in New Cross and attended Haberdashers’ Aske’s Hatcham College. He was born in Lambeth, Greater London.

During the 1994 FIFA World Cup campaign, he made an appearance as a 13-year-old in a well-known English commercial for McDonald’s in which he played keepie uppie. Parker is a product of the now-defunct national School of Excellence at Lilleshall run by The Football Association.

Parker started his career at Charlton Athletic, went on loan to Norwich City, and then in January 2004 paid £10 million to join Chelsea. He moved to Newcastle United the following year after playing sparingly for Chelsea, where he was named captain. Parker joined West Ham United in 2007, and despite the team being demoted, he was named the FWA Footballer of the Year for the 2010–11 campaign.

Then, in 2013, he joined Fulham after being acquired by Tottenham Hotspur. Prior to his retirement at the conclusion of the 2016–17 season, he would appear in 119 league games for Fulham in both the Premier League and the Championship.

Since his full début in 2003, Parker has competed for England at every level, from under-16 to senior. He was unusual in that he represented four separate clubs while earning his first four England caps.

Parker played for the England squad at UEFA Euro 2012, which advanced to the quarterfinals.

Parker was recruited as Fulham’s interim manager in February 2019 and made permanent that summer. They were promoted to the Premier League in his first season in command after they won the Championship play-offs, but they were demoted the following year.

In 2021, he left to join AFC Bournemouth, where he earned promotion from the Championship in his debut campaign once more.

He was fired from the team following a 9-0 defeat to Liverpool in the fourth league game of the year. He was later recruited by Club Brugge, where he lasted just 12 games before being fired.
