Maria Claire Rupio, the wife of Christian Atsu has been formally requested not to travel to Ghana to attend the one-week memorial service for her late husband, according to the family of the late Christian Atsu, led by their de facto spokesperson Abraham Twasam.

Maria Claire Rupio requested to visit Ghana but was advised to hold off until the family set a date for the burial, according to Abraham Twasam.

Atsu’s cousin claimed in a recent interview that Claire Rupio, who lives in the UK with their three children, and the family in Ghana stay in touch frequently.

“His wife calls us every day. She calls us every morning to ask us what is going on. She always says the children worry her, so she is always calling us to hear from us,” Abraham Twasam stated in an interview that was published by Pak MediaGh.

“We’ve told her to wait until the funeral so she comes. We will give the children local names so that people will know they are from Ghana,” he added.

Meanwhile, Evangelist Diana Asamoah has categorically criticized Nana Agradaa aka Mama Pat for her disparaging remarks regarding the passing of Christian Atsu.

In the words of Diana Asamoah, Nana Agradaa should have died in place of Atsu because she is evil and an idol worshipper.

Her comment comes after Agradaa passed unsavoury comments about Atsu while ascribing the reason why he died which he claimed had nothing to do with the earthquake. Click here to read more.
