The late Christian Atsu’s family’s spokesperson, Abraham Twasam, has revealed the plans the extended family has in store for the late footballer’s children.
Speaking to the media recently and echoed by Pak MediaGh, Abraham said Atsu’s German wife, Maria Claire Rupio has informed the extended family that her children are worried about the absence of their father and want to know his whereabouts.
He also said Rupio has been formally requested not to travel to Ghana to attend the one-week memorial service for her late husband until the family set a date for the burial, according to Abraham Twasam.

Beyond that, the family revealed how they intend to authenticate Atsu’s children’s identity by giving them local names.
“His wife calls us every day. She calls us every morning to ask us what is going on. She always says the children worry her, so she is always calling us to hear from us,” Abraham Twasam stated in an interview that was published by Pak MediaGh.
“We’ve told her to wait until the funeral so she comes. We will give the children local names so that people will know they are from Ghana,” he added.
In a related development, Sonnie Badu has mentioned that Christian Atsu’s passing has a spiritual significance by insisting that there is more to the former Ghanaian international’s tragic passing than meets the eye.
The preacher and record-breaking gospel singer blamed “yaanom” for Atsu’s passing and denied that the earthquake had anything to do with it on social media.

The former Premier League player, who played for both Newcastle United and Chelsea, vanished on Tuesday, February 7, following the tragic earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria on Monday, February 6.
Only hours before the tragic incident took place, he scored a last-second winner for his current club Hatayspor against Turkish Super Lig rivals Kasimpasa on February 5 at home. Atsu joined the Turkish side in September of last year and was in Antakya at the time of earlier this month’s earthquake.
